Mark Goucher’s first production in his role as chief executive of Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre will be Ronald Harwood’s Quartet.

Paul Nicholas, Wendi Peters, Sue Holderness and Jeff Rawle form the cast of the comedy which is directed by Peter Rowe and designed by Phil R Daniels and Charles Cusick Smith.

Quartet is the tale of a group of ageing opera singers. Cecily (Wendi Peters), Reggie (Jeff Rawle) and Wilfred (Paul Nicholas) live in a magnificent retirement home in Kent. The rumour circulating is that the home is soon to play host to a new resident. Jean (Sue Holderness) arrives and old rivalries resurface, secrets are revealed and chaos unfolds.

Quartet plays at the Everyman Theatre from Thursday 8 until Saturday 17 February 2018. Press night will be Tuesday 13 February. It then tours to Sheffield, Ipswich, Birmingham, Salisbury, Brighton, Cambridge, Richmond and Bath until 21 April.
