PB Theatricals’ HMS Pinafore in 2016

Youth theatre company PB Theatricals is taking on three new challenges with shows for those aged 10 to 18, one of which will be performed at Buxton Fringe.

The company gives children and young people the opportunity to explore their creativity and confidence by casting, rehearsing and performing Gilbert and Sullivan shows within a week.

PB Theatricals returns to the Buxton Fringe with Rarest of all Rarities, a collection of songs from rarely performed Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. Over the course of an hour, audiences will visit the topsy-turvy worlds of The Gondoliers, Utopia Ltd, Grand Duke and The Sorcerer. It will be staged at the Green Man Gallery, Buxton on Thursday 18 July at 7:30PM and The Rotunda, Pavilion Gardens, Buxton on Friday 19 July at 3PM.

The company will also be staging HMS Pinafore by 10- to 18-year-olds at the Medway Centre, Bakewell on Friday 26 July at 7:30PM and at New Mills Arts Theatre on Saturday 27 July at 2:15PM.

16- to 30-year-olds will perform The Gondoliers at the Medway Centre, Bakewell on Saturday 3 August at 2:30 and 7:30PM, and at New Mills Art Theatre, New Mills, Derbyshire on Sunday 4 August at 7:15PM.

Auditions for both productions will be held at St Thomas More Catholic School, Buxton on Saturday 20 July at 10AM. Anyone interested should register at the PB Theatricals web site.
