A new musical drama Paddy is the work of singer Tommy Fleming, Midwest Radio’s Tommy Marren and songwriter Gerry Carney.

It premièred in the Royal Theatre in Castlebar and was followed by a sold-out nationwide tour of Ireland.

It tells the story of emigration in all its shapes and forms. The two-hour production follows the tale of a young Irish emigrant called Patrick Murphy (played by Fleming) who leaves Mayo in the 1960s in search of fame and fortune.

It’s now embarking on a mainland tour including Parr Hall, Warrington (November 9), Stockport Plaza (15 and 16 November) and The Muni, Lancashire (17 November).
