Three performers at Buxton Fringe claim to have the answer to a question which has been puzzling philosophers for centuries: the secret of true happiness!

A “feel-good show which celebrates the ironic and the unexpected in life”, Choose to be Happy is a revue with words by Deirdre Costello and music by Alex Butler and Graham Clark.

Deirdre Costello is an actor/writer who once danced with Rudolf Nureyev—but only in the lunch hour on a film set—was given one-to-one acting lessons by Harold Pinter and has appeared on stage with both Hylda Baker and Dame Janet Baker, but not at the same time.

Despite that, she says what people mostly want to know is why she was so mean to her husband in the film The Full Monty.

Graham Clark is a virtuoso jazz violinist with an international reputation while Alex Butler is a guitarist and keyboard player formerly of the band DNA.

Choose to be Happy is at Buxton Clubhouse on Sunday (14 July) at 8PM.
