After breaking box office records with previous productions in 2011 and 2012, Andrea Dunbar’s classic Rita, Sue and Bob Too! is returning to St Helens Theatre Royal in February.
The new stage version of the 1987 cult movie is once again brought to the stage by Regal Entertainments Ltd and Lee Latchford Evans, best known as one fifth of the '90s pop-phenomenon Steps, stars as love lothario Bob.
Emily Fleeshman, known for her role in BBC’s Still Open All Hours and appearances in Doctors and Shameless, stars as Rita and Merseyside’s Olivia Sloyan, whose credits include Linda in the UK tour of Bill Kenwright’s Blood Brothers, stars as Rita’s partner in crime, Sue.
Completing the cast are two Theatre Royal favourites: local legend and star of ITV’s Benidorm and past productions Escorts: The Musical and Dirty Dusting, Crissy Rock as Mum and comedian Micky Finn, whom audiences saw earlier this year as the pub landlord in Show Us Your Tips, reprises his role as Dad.
