After a 2011 sell-out run, Rita, Sue & Bob Too! returns to St Helens Theatre Royal from October 17 to 26.
Again the play will be directed by Sylvie Gatrill, and headlining the production is Shameless and TV star Tina Malone as Bob's wife Michelle, her real-life daughter Dannielle Malone (Hollyoaks) as Rita and her husband Paul Malone playing the role of Sam.
The all-star cast also includes Nikki Sanderson (Coronation Street) as Sue, Paul Opacic (Emmerdale and Hollyoaks) as Bob, comedian Mickey Finn as Dad and director Gatrill will even make an on-stage appearance as Mum, having previously starred in TV shows such as Bread.
Rita and Sue are two working class girls from a rundown council estate, about to finish their final year at school, and generally disillusioned with life and their circumstances. The play was written by Andrea Dunbar and was adapted for the cinema and filmed in 1986.
