The Theatre Chipping Norton is to venture into Sherwood Forest at Christmas 2015 with a new version of Robin Hood.

A few unfamiliar faces—Little Joan, a wandering minstrel and a company of singing rabbits—will accompany old friends including Friar Tuck and the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham.

Chipping Norton says its secret panto recipe “mixes together toe-tapping original music from award-winning composer Sarah Travis, stunning verdant visuals from set designer Russell Craig and costume designer Emily Stuart and a laugh-a-minute script from playwright Ben Crocker”.

The cast features Scott Ellis as Robin Hood, Andrew Piper as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Andrew Pepper as dame Connie Clatterbottom, Ben Eagle as Friar Tuck, Rosanna Lambe as Little Joan, Madeleine Leslay as Maid Marion, Sam O’Hanlon as Alan-a-Dale and Samuel Dutton as Dennis.

Abigail Anderson directs. Choreography is by Sally Brooks, with fight sequences by Phillip d’Orleans.

Robin Hood runs at the Theatre Chipping Norton from Tuesday 17 November until Sunday 10 January 2016. Press night will be on Wednesday 18 November.
