The Manchester Shakespeare Company, a new theatre production team in the heart of the city, is set to present its second show at the Three Minute Theatre.
Desperate Measures premiered last October and was a sold out run.
Buoyed by that success, Before Juliet will be an original version of Romeo and Juliet, a dark twist told from the perspective of Romeo's original girlfriend, Rosaline.
Set in a time and city where prejudices, demonstrations and riots tear people apart and cost young boys their lives, it aims to be both a dark and enlightening version.
It runs from March 17-22.
