Rose, by Martin Sherman and starring Dame Maureen Lipman, is live on stage at Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester and Park Theatre in London in August–October this year.
Following an award-winning online run, later broadcast on Sky Arts, Lipman returns to the title role.
From a tiny Ukrainian village, through the Warsaw ghettos to the boardwalks of Atlantic City, the play is a reminder of some of the harrowing events of the 20th century through a Jewish woman’s eyes. Blending personal with political, Rose traces one woman’s story from the devastation of Nazi-ruled Europe to conquering the American dream.
It’s at Hope Mill Theatre August 30 to September 11 and at Park Theatre September 13 to October 15.
