Valuable role: Rebecca Preston moves to the RSC

Rebecca Preston has been appointed the Royal Shakespeare Company’s director of development.

She joins the RSC from Southbank Centre where she established a reputation as “one of the arts sector’s most innovative fundraisers”.

In a decade at the centre, she secured major capital funding for the Royal Festival Hall refurbishment, project-managed the reinstallation of the Festival Hall organ and created high-profile partnerships with the financial sector.

Previously she worked at the Royal Court Theatre and the Terrence Higgins Trust.

Catherine Mallyon, RSC executive director, says, “Rebecca is a highly experienced fundraiser and leader.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming her to the RSC where I know she’ll play a really valuable role in securing support for our artistic vision and our ambitions to broaden our reach and engagement with audiences.”

Rebecca Preston adds, “I’m very much looking forward to joining the RSC and to working with the development team and the wider organisation to deliver increased sustainable funding for the future."
