Pilot Theatre presents Roy Williams’s gritty new adaptation of Alan Sillitoe's classic The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner at Liverpool Playhouse from October 30-November 3.

This new version of the seminal piece aims to unlock the biting realism of the original book while placing the drama firmly in a contemporary frame.

It marks the first time the famed Pilot Theatre will have been to the Playhouse.

Told against the backdrop of last year’s riots, the production will use imaginative audio and visual design to take us into the thoughts of young rebel Colin, with him all the while running on a treadmill on the stage.
