Grease, the original high-school musical, is back in Manchester next week with Danny Bayne starring as Danny Zuko and Carina Gillespie as his sweetheart Sandy, plus Strictly Come Dancing’s Russell Grant guest starring as Teen Angel.
Bayne won ITV’s Grease is the Word TV programme, and went on to make his West End debut as Danny. He was also seen in Manchester last summer playing the role of Corny Collins in Hairspray at the Opera House.
Carina Gillespie trained at the Liverpool Theatre School and made her professional stage debut as Maria Elena in the hugely successful musical Buddy—The Buddy Holly Story. Russell Grant had a successful acting career in theatre, television and film as well as astrology before he captured the attention as an unlikely contender on Strictly.
Grease is at the Palace from Oct 8-13.
