Sadler's Wells presents 9th International Festival of Hip Hop Dance Theatre

ILL-Abilities by Ben LiSadler's Wells will present the Ninth International Festival of Hip Hop Dance Theatre for the May bank holiday weekend.

Curated by Sadler's Wells associate artist Jonzi D, Breakin' Convention 2012 will feature international breakdance company ILL-Abilities that challenges misconceptions about people with disabilities, Vagabond Crew from France, B-boy Ata from Finland, Serial Stepperz from France, Storyboard P from New York and PT 3000 Ft. Demons of the Mind from the US.

From the UK, Unity will return with a piece about East London postcode wars, Boadicea is a 12-piece female crew founded by Rhimes Lecointe, Tony Adigon wlll present a world première, Ivan Blackstock will perform a comedy on the effects of sleep deprivation, Broken Doll will perform a dark solo and Simeon Qsyea combines dance and the spoken word.

Additional events include workshops, DJ demos, freestyle sessions, live aerosol art and film screenings. The festival will also be streamed live from 4PM on 7 May through ACE's new on-demand initiative in association with the BBC, The Space.
