Sally Anne Tye, New Perspectives new executive director

East Midlands touring company New Perspectives has announced that Sally Anne Tye is to be its new executive director.

She will replace Chris Kirkwood who will be leaving the company at the end of this month to become chief executive of Lincoln Drill Hall.

Sally Anne Tye has more than 17 years’ experience as a senior manager, working for companies such as Nottingham Playhouse, Nottingham Royal Centre, Leicester Haymarket and Sunderland Empire.

She has also held PR roles for theatres in Sheffield, Bristol and Wales, and was director of public affairs at the Abbey, Ireland’s National Theatre.

“I have a passion for making the arts accessible to as wide an audience as possible,” she said.

“With a 40-year track record of creating, managing and touring theatre productions to rural heartlands and beyond, a dynamic East Midlands-wide talent development programme and new artistic vision, I’m thrilled to join Jack McNamara and the highly skilled and energetic New Perspectives team to prepare for the first season under his artistic lead.”

New Perspectives artistic director Jack McNamara commented, “Sally is a dynamic person, full of insight and ideas, and I’m really excited to have the chance to work alongside her in such a pivotal role.”

She will begin her role as executive director at the end of March.
