Global integrated healthcare leader Sanofi launched its Bike Buddy Scheme at Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre on Friday 22 May, giving less able people the chance to participate in the Sanofi Surrey Classic Bike Ride.

Under the 'Sanofi Inspires' community campaign, the company has teamed up with Surrey Wheels for All, which is offering access to its range of adapted bikes and tandems to enable people with a physical or mental disability to participate in this year's Sanofi Surrey Classic Bike Ride on Sunday 28 June.

Sky Sports News's Julia Immonen who founded the charity 'Sports for Freedom' and was part of the first team of five women to row the Atlantic Ocean, and Harlequins and former England Saxons rugby player Matt Hopper launched the scheme at the theatre

Matt Hopper said, "this initiative is an amazing idea which I fully support. Sport has played a hugely important part in my life and allowed me to achieve some incredible goals.

"Today, more and more disabled people are able to participate in physical activities and this is a great example of how that can happen through the provision of adapted bikes and volunteer helpers to act as Bike Buddies"
