Oh, Whistle, and I’ll Come To You, My Lad
The Signalman

Blackpool Grand Theatre welcomes a new production of two spine-tingling masterpieces when Classic Ghosts comes to town from January 27-31.

Featuring The Signalman by Charles Dickens and Oh, Whistle, and I’ll Come To You, My Lad by M R James, this new production, designed and directed by Michael Lunney, includes Jack Shepherd (The Golden Compass, Wycliffe, Waking The Dead) alongside Terrence Hardiman (The Demon Headmaster, Cadfael) and Dicken Ashworth (Coronation Street, Emmerdale).

The Signalman is Dickens’s unnerving tale of a tormented signalman haunted by visions of impending disaster on his isolated stretch of line.

The second story tells the story of Professor Parkins, a Cambridge academic on an out-of-season holiday at a bleak English east coast hotel in 1907.
