Sex Olympics for Fringe Festival

Greater Manchester Fringe FestivalYear of the Sex Olympics, first broadcast on BBC2 in 1968, is to be staged for the first time in 44 years as part of Greater Manchester Fringe Festival. Society is divided between 'low-drives' that equate with the labouring classes and 'hi-drives' who control the government and media.

However one hi-drive, Nat Mender, believes that the media should be used to educate the low-drives.

It's performed on July 13 (6.30pm and 9pm), July 14 (2pm and 5pm), July 15 (2pm and 4.30pm), July 31 (6pm and 9pm) at Lass O'Gowrie.

Staffroom, by Rachel Creeger of Time2Shine Productions, is at the King's Arms in Salford on July 16 and 17 (7.30pm).

This piece of new writing from is based on her years of experience working as a School-Home Liaison Officer, Child Protection Specialist and Drugs Worker in Pupil Referral Units.

Paul Darrow, Avon in BBC TV's Blake's 7, is appearing in the world premiere of brand new stage adaptations of two Dr Who stories as part of the Festival.

This double bill world premiere—the first time these episodes have been performed live on stage—is at Fab Café, 109 Portland Street, Manchester.

After the premiere Robots of Death is performed July 22 (2pm, 4:30pm, 8pm), July 23 (7:00pm), July 24 (7:00pm).

The sequel Storm Mine will be performed at the Lass O'Gowrie - July 28 (2pm, 5pm), July 29 (2pm, 5pm, 8pm), July 30 (6:30pm, 8:30pm).

A brand new stage adaptation of Porridge has its world premiere at the Lass O'Gowrie.

It's also staged on July 2 (7pm and 9pm), 3 (7pm and 9pm), and 22 (2pm, 5pm and 8pm).

Together in Electric Dreams, which has its world premiere on Wednesday July 4, takes us back to 1986 when the bottom was falling out of the British electronics industry.

Oldham-born writer Dan Thackeray explores what happened to Sir Clive Sinclair, British inventor of the pocket calculator and the first ever personal computer.

It's also at the Lass O'Gowrie on July 4 (7pm and 9pm), July 5 (7pm and 9pm), July 8 (4pm, 6pm and 8pm) and July 26 (5.30pm and 7.30pm).
