Shakespeare Schools Festival

The 15th annual Shakespeare Schools Festival arrives at Lancaster’s Dukes Theatre on November 25.

Pupils from three local schools will each present a different half-hour version of a Shakespeare play, giving them the opportunity to perform in a professional theatre—most for the first time.

Willow Lane County Primary School in Lancaster will perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Morecambe Community High School take on As You Like It and Romeo and Juliet is the choice of Ripley St Thomas CE Academy in Lancaster.

The festival is described as the biggest Shakespeare celebration of the year as, over six weeks, 35,000 young people of all abilities from across the country will participate.
