The new season at the National Theatre for the second half of 2012 features appearances from Fiona Shaw, Phil Daniels, Philip Glenister and Bertie Carvel.
This House is a new play by James Graham which opens in the Cottesloe on 25 September set in the engine rooms of Westminster in 1974 directed by Jeremy Herrin and starring Phil Daniels, Philip Glenister and Julian Wadham.
Tom Cairns will direct a revival of Howard Barker's Scenes From An Execution, opening at the Lyttleton Theatre on 4 October with a cast led by Fiona Shaw.
A new version by Frank McGuinness of Damned By Despair by Tirso de Molina will be directed by Bijan Sheibani with a cast including Sebastian Armesto, Bertie Carvel, Rory Keenan and Amanda Lawrence, opening at the Olivier Theatre on 2 October.
During this period, there will also be a busy festival programme under the banner of National Theatre Inside Out from 1 June to 9 September, including the Watch This Space Festival in Theatre Square, the Pop-up Workshop on Riverside Terrace, site-specific commissions from affiliate companies and exhibitions on the making of War Horse and Timon of Athens.
