Future leaders: members of Birmingham Hippodrome’s Young Advocates programme

Birmingham Hippodrome has selected 16 young people for its Young Advocates pilot programme who will receive mentoring, training and skills to build them into future leaders.

More than 300 young people expressed interest and 150 applied to be part of the programme. Those selected are aged between 14 and 22 and come from the West Midlands.

Zaylie-Dawn Wilson, head of learning and participation at the Hippodrome, said, "we can't wait to start working with this exceptional group of young people.

“This is about the Young Advocates driving meaningful change for young people of the city. As well as looking at how this group can shape our future programme, we’re excited to develop their skills as future leaders in the arts and cultural sector."
