Music legends Morrissey and Johnny Marr have given their approval to a project that will see ‘real’ Smiths reflect on life in Salford to the sound of the band’s music.

30 Days of The Smiths, by sound artist Oberman Knocks, will form part of The Lowry’s new Week 53 festival (April 28 to May 8), which seeks to highlight peoples’ places in the world.

Week 53 represents a major commissioning project for The Lowry—bringing together contemporary dance, visual arts, music and theatre in interactive installations, exhibitions and performances.

It will feature more than 200 international artists and 63 performances and exhibitions across the 11 days.
