Spring / summer pantomimes

Spring has sprung and the end of lockdown is in sight. Whilst theatres remain closed over the Easter period, pantomime yet again shows its willingness to evolve as a whole host of productions take to the screen via online streaming.

When venues are permitted to open their doors, pantomime will be one of the first forms of entertainment on offer. Between May and August, twelve live shows are set to be presented including three productions each of Treasure Island and The Wizard of Oz.

Those who like their pantomimes with added sauce will also be catered for as South Shields and Blackpool welcome adult versions of Aladdin and Dick Whittington whilst Sleeping with Beauty embarks on a national tour.

Family friendly productions of Dick Whittington and Sleeping Beauty earmarked for Portsmouth and Liverpool will finally get a chance to complete their runs after postponements and rescheduling. Headlined by Same Difference’s Sean and Sarah Smith and Gareth Gates respectively, these shows provide the opportunity to top up on some missed panto magic before Christmas comes along.
