The world première of the latest commission for acclaimed Birmingham-based company Stan’s Cafe and the return of a hit musical are among the highlights of the summer at Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry.
Head of programme and audiences Matt Burman said, “the University of Warwick has been inspiring minds and feeding souls for the past 50 years and it’s no coincidence that its founders chose to put Warwick Arts Centre right at the beating heart of the campus.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming some of our favourites as well as fantastic emerging artists and rising stars presenting their Coventry debuts to celebrate this milestone in history.”
Stan’s Cafe will stage A Translation of Shadows from Wednesday until Friday, 22 until 24 April before it goes on tour to Peninsula Arts, Plymouth and the Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton.
The Deranged Marriage, a Rifco and Watford Palace Theatre co-production written and directed by Pravesh Kumar, returns to Warwick Arts Centre from 2 until 6 June.
English Touring Opera will present Donizetti’s The Wild Man of the West Indies on Thursday 23 April, La Boheme by Puccini on Friday and Saturday, 24 and 25 April and a new one-act opera Shackleton’s Cat on Saturday 25 April at 2PM.
