Anya Garnis and Pasha Kovalev, co-creators of Rise Up With the Arts

Some of the biggest names in theatre, dance and music are to get together for Rise Up With the Arts, a live stream event which will air on World Theatre Day.

The co-creators of the show are Anya Garnis, who was a finalist on the USA series So You Think You Can Dance, and Pasha Kovalev, one of Strictly Come Dancing's professionals who won the competition in 2014.

Garnis said, "having not been able to perform throughout 2020 and seeing many of my friends struggle without a creative outlet due to the pandemic, we decided we had to take matters into our own hands and create a virtual experience that could bring the arts back to life."

The show will also feature Kerry Ellis, who has taken leading roles in several West End musicals, actress Lisa Riley, choreographer and theatre director Arlene Phillips and lyricist Don Black.

Rise Up With the Arts will be available on Zoom livestream from 7:30PM on 27 March. Tickets cost £14 if booked before Friday 26 February and £21 afterwards. They are available at the Eventbrite web site.

Profit from ticket sales will go to the Theatre Support Fund+, creators of the design for The Show Must Go On which has raised £600,000 working with charities such as Acting For Others, Fleabag Support Fund and the NHS COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.
