Wild East

Sunderland-based Theatre Space NE will be back on the road in May with a seven outdoor venue tour of April De Angelis’s Wild East.

This 80-minute three-hander about a nerdish anthropologist’s interview for a job with a large company, which is both comic and very serious, will be performed in a tent to a socially distanced audience.

The only groups which will be admitted are of a single household or bubble of up to 6 people who must arrive and sit together in the socially distanced space which will be allocated to them. There will be temperature checks on arrival and hand sanitisers will be available throughout the site.

Audience members must bring their own seating or sit on the ground. The performance takes place outdoors under the cover of a large tent so audience members should wrap up warmly and dress for inclement weather. The show will go ahead in all but the most extreme conditions.

The production will visit:

  • The Bike Garden, Newcastle on 20 May
  • St Andrews Churchyard, Sunderland on 21 May
  • Gateshead Older Peoples Association on 22 May
  • Lambton Park, Tyne & Wear on 26 May
  • Moor House Adventure Centre, Houghton le Spring on 27 May
  • Jarrow Hall on 28 May
  • The Garden Station, Hexham on 29 May

Tickets are £10 and all performances start at 7:00. Tickets can be booked online through TicketSource.
