Nutcracker cast

From Wythenshawe to the candy kingdom of Sweetieland, a North West dancer is among the cast of Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker at The Lowry from November 23 to December 4.

One of the sweetest of Matthew Bourne’s treats returns for the first time in ten years.

Isaac Peter Bowry was in the audience at the last performance, and it was then that he decided he wanted to become a dancer.

As a teenager, he questioned if he could make it, but after he was awarded a place on The Lowry Centre for Advanced Training in Dance scheme he now boasts career highlights including Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake and as principal dancer for Ballet Theatre UK & Chantry Dance Company.

The confirmed company includes Cordelia Braithwaite and Katrina Lyndon as Clara, Ashley Shaw and Monique Jonas as Princess Sugar. Harrison Dowzell will play the title role, along with Ben Brown and Reece Causton. Fritz will be played by Dominic North, James Lovell and Stephen Murray. Playing Dr Dross are Neil Westmoreland, Reece Causton and Danny Reubens with his wife, Mrs Dross, performed by Madelaine Brennan, Daisy May Kemp and Steph Billers.

Tchaikovsky’s original score and newly-refreshed sets and costumes combine with Bourne’s choreography to create an irreverent interpretation of the classic.
