The Dukes Theatre in Lancaster are meeting the challenge of arts funding by offering patrons a Coronation Street tour by one of its stars; luxury minibreaks; a private cinema screening; or a day as a racehorse owner. The venue, a registered charity, puts the fun into fundraising this spring with its first Auction of Promises on March 30.
Patron and former youth theatre member, Cherylee Houston, who now plays Izzy Armstrong in Coronation Street, and scriptwriter Debbie Oates will provide the tour of the famous cobbles for up to four people plus a signed script.
