The Spine

20 Stories High, acclaimed for its ground-breaking work by, with and for young people, presents its latest production The Spine, written by Nathan Powell and starring Hollyoaks actor Keith Rice with music from Conrad Kira.

Kyle, Liam and Hakeem dream of football, fame and fortune; after spending most of their teenage years being the spine of the team, the Premier League is now at their fingertips.

But as they all reach for that golden contract, the cracks begin to appear as years of institutional racism and hyper-masculinity begin to take their toll.

The Spine shines a spotlight on a system that promises the world but leaves more than 99% of young men on the sidelines.

It tours nationally to Unity Theatre in Liverpool (February 13–15), Crewe Lyceum (February 18), Prescott Library in Knowsley (February 20), Huyton Library in Knowsley (February 21), Stratford Circus Arts Centre in London (February 25–26) and Camden People’s Theatre (February 27–29).
