From 8 to 27 February 2016, Guildford Shakespeare Company begins its 10th anniversary year with Shakespeare's late play The Winter's Tale in the newly-restored Holy Trinity Church.

GSC's The Winter's Tale will be set circa 1860, with the Sicilian royal family emulating the conservatism of the British Victorian court, whilst Bohemia will reflect the colour and freedom of the Indian sub-continent.

It is anticipated that the performances will include moving stages, trapezes and Indian folk-dance to bring to life the spectacle and epic nature of this allegorical tale.

This production will come from the team behind the last two winter seasons at Holy Trinity (King Lear and Othello) including director Caroline Devlin and designer Neil Irish.

GSC's 10th anniversary programme will include The Comedy of Errors and Much Ado About Nothing later in the year. 2015 has been the company's most successful year to date with more than 15,000 audience members and 78% of its 141 performances selling out.

Public booking opens on 1 December.
