A West Sussex theatre group for young people with learning disabilities is keen to welcome new members at the start of its spring term.

The Chichester Festival Youth Theatre group for those aged 14+ has been established as part of the drive to extend youth drama activities across the region. Led by a trained and experienced teacher, members will learn about theatre and have the opportunity to develop performance skills including movement, character and voice.

As with all CFYT groups, opportunities are given to the young people to be involved in other youth theatre projects. They will also share their work alongside other groups and with parents, carers and friends. This integrates the groups and creates chances for collaborative work between young people with and without disabilities.

The fee for the term is £60 and bursaries are available. The classes run from January to March on Mondays at the Capitol in Horsham.

To book classes or for further information, contact Jonty Boustead, Senior Youth Theatre Leader on 07969 044765.

Spring term begins on 12 January.
