Stefanie Moore, Simon Widdop and Sian Davies are creating a buzz in The Hive for July 2019.

It’s a new curated branch of Greater Manchester Fringe, developing new writers and performers to première their work at the eighth GMFringe July 1–31 and supported by Arts Council England.

Applicants were narrowed down to a shortlist of 40, who pitched their ideas with five-minute performances at Salford Arts Theatre.

Sex education was the inspiration for Blue Lines by Stefanie Moore, who is being mentored by Tim Firth (Calendar Girls) and Mike Heath (Write for the Stage).

Simon Widdop, 29, a punk poet, is working with comedy writer and performer Ben Moor on Stained, his debut spoken word show.

Sian Davies, 36, from Liverpool, is one of the rising stars of the north west comedy circuit and is being mentored by comedian Dave Williams.

Greater Manchester Fringe is an open access arts festival and is inviting venues throughout Greater Manchester that want to take part to get in touch as soon as possible.
