The first-ever UK tour of the musical Dreamgirls, which had been due to start in 2020, will now open at the Liverpool Empire Theatre this December before visiting Manchester and Blackpool in the region and several cities across the country throughout 2022 and into 2023.
Featuring the classics "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Goin", "Listen" and "One Night Only", the show had its West End première in December 2016 at London’s Savoy Theatre, 35 years on from opening on Broadway.
Effie, Lorrell and Deena are three talented young singers in the turbulent 1960s embarking on a rollercoaster ride through a world of fame, fortune and the ruthless realities of show-business.
Nicole Raquel Dennis will play Effie White at certain performances with further casting to be announced.
The show’s opening is subject to government allowing indoor performances to begin with sufficient notice, and other conditions.
