Three’s Company, which has been taking productions to Buxton Fringe for 16 years, is offering a new online comedy podcast for the 2020 festival.

Three’s Company’s Adventure Department follows the company’s attempts to record a serious theatre podcast which is interrupted each episode by an urgent adventure. Series one involves the three members of the company rescuing an island from a wicked witch, saving the Queen from aliens, solving a murder mystery and taking down a film noir crime boss—all before attempting to stop a zombie apocalypse in the season finale.

The Buxton-based company—Yaz Al-Shaater, Tom Crawshaw and Michael Grady-Hall—first appeared at Buxton Fringe in 2003. The trio have since performed all over the country including a run in the West End. But they have returned to Buxton each summer to produce new work.

They are joined in their online adventures by a host of actors from previous projects including Les Dennis as a bungling wizard, Rufus Hound as a bankrupt space-ranger, Youssef Kerkour as an acerbic butler and Caroline Quentin as an evil scientist who risks destroying the world.

The comedy will première online on Friday 3 July as part of the Buxton Fringe, with the first two episodes available to download from 7PM. Subsequent episodes will follow each fortnight and all are free. All episodes can be found at Three’s Company’s Adventure Department web site.
