Soul Sister at The Lowry

The Lowry in Salford stages the life of pop legend Tina Turner in a new musical Soul Sister from June 3-8.

Presented by Bill Kenwright and John Miller, it stars Emi Wokoma as Turner, arguably one of music’s greatest ever live performing and recording artists and features all the classics including "Simply the Best", "What’s Love Got to Do with It", "Proud Mary", "Private Dancer" and "River Deep, Mountain High".

The musical follows the highs and lows of Ike and Tina Turner as their careers blossomed and their marriage crumbled.

Emi Wokoma’s stage credits include Hairspray at the Shaftesbury Theatre, as one of the Ronettes in Little Shop of Horrors at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, in The Bacchae directed by John Tiffany for the National Theatre of Scotland and in Trevor Nunn’s Porgy and Bess at the Savoy.
