Road to the Beach - Motionhouse

Artists, performers and mechanical masterpieces are set to arrive in Fleetwood on Sunday as part of the ever-popular Tram Sunday.

LeftCoast is working in partnership with Fleetwood Festival of Transport and Wyre Council to add this new element to the day with street theatre, workshops and performances themed around transport.

SpareParts will focus activity around Marine Hall and the Mount although a parade, strolling street theatre shows and workshops will also take place in the town centre.

Inside the Marine Hall the theatre will play host to a cinematic exploration into the future of transport with three large projections taking over the space.

The finale to SpareParts will see dance company Motionhouse delight onlookers with their spectacular performance Traction on the beach behind the Marine Hall.

The show lasts 20 minutes and was originally created in 2011 for the Bullring in Birmingham. It is a Transformers-esque performance that sees six dancers and three JCB diggers dancing together in celebration of the harmony between humans and machines.
