Swashbuckling adventure: Treasure Island

Derby Theatre is looking for members of the community to perform on its main stage alongside professional actors in its spring 2020 production, Treasure Island.

Auditions will be held in groups of 15 on Saturday 18 January. The theatre is looking for anyone aged nine and above of all genders, ethnicities and abilities.

Theresa Heskins’s adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel will mirror the April 2019 production at Derby Theatre of The Jungle Book in that all performances will have fully integrated BSL and captioning. The professional cast will consist of deaf, hearing and interpreting actors and musicians. The creative team will also include deaf people.

Application forms can be downloaded at the Derby Theatre web site. Community rehearsals for Treasure Island will start on Tuesday 25 February and will be held three times a week. The production will run from Saturday 28 March until Saturday 11 April.
