Northampton’s Royal and Derngate has begun its annual Unforgettable Gift appeal which enables the theatre to give free tickets for its Christmas shows to youngsters who live in or are at risk of child poverty.

The campaign started in 2015 and since then the theatre has given away more than 1,300 tickets to families in need in Northamptonshire.

Customers are invited to add a £10 donation when making a booking at Royal and Derngate. The theatre will match the donation to provide free tickets to Cinderella, Pippi Longstocking or The Further Adventures of the Owl and the Pussy-cat.

David O’Hara, Royal and Derngate’s marketing, sales and development director, said, “we’re always thrilled and appreciative of how generous the people of Northamptonshire are during this campaign and last year’s appeal was our best yet.

“Now with some fantastic Christmas shows for the children to look forward to, we’re really hoping everyone will support us again to help make this year bigger and better than ever.”
