A “completely immersive experience”: Walking Stories

Dancer and choreographer Charlotte Spencer is to bring her Walking Stories experience to the Midlands for the first time.

Walking Stories is an audio walk for parks. It was created in 2013. A maximum audience of 22 “watch, listen and follow instructions, connecting with their environment in a completely new way”.

It will be performed at the Our Woods arts festival in Corby, Northamptonshire. The festival’s creative producer Ros Stoddart said, “you live it, breathe it, build and dismantle it.

“Participants are supplied with mp3 players and headphones and, almost before they realise it, they’re absorbed into a spontaneous walking dance.”

Walking Stories will be held on two Saturdays, 1 and 15 October, with performances at 1 and 4PM. More details can be found at the Core at Corby Cube web site.
