War Horse visits the Regent Theatre, Stoke in September 2014

The National Theatre’s production of Michael Morpurgo’s War Horse is breaking box-office records at Stoke’s Regent Theatre—nine months before it appears there.

Ten per cent of tickets were snapped up within the first 48 hours of going on sale; 3,500 tickets have already been sold.

Victoria Power, the Regent’s marketing manager, said, “It’s great news for the theatre and for the wider area to have such a strong show like War Horse touring here next year.

“The early booking pattern has shown there’s a strong demand for this type of high-quality production in the city.”

War Horse will be at the Regent Theatre for three weeks from Wednesday 24 September until Saturday 11 October 2014.
