The Lowry in Salford will next year stage a nine-week run of the National Theatre’s award-winning War Horse, as part of the internationally acclaimed production’s first UK tour.

War Horse continues to attract sell-out houses during its fourth year in the West End. Seen by more than 2.4 million people worldwide since its première at the National Theatre in 2007, it will visit nine venues on a ten-month tour of the UK and Ireland, beginning in September 2013.

It is the powerful story of a young boy called Albert and his beloved horse, Joey, who has been requisitioned to fight for the British in World War One.
