A new festival has been announced for spring 2014, with various events taking place in venues across Warwick.

The Warwick Spring will be produced by Playbox Theatre with support from Warwickshire County Council, Warwick District Council, Leamington Music, High Pavement Bar and Dining, St Mary’s Church and New World Circus.

Stewart McGill, director of the Warwick Spring, says, “We’ve always believed that arts and entertainment from circus to Shakespeare should be for everyone, every age and every background. The Warwick Spring is just that.

“We hope this will evolve into an annual springtime meeting in Warwick.”

Highlights include Shakespeare Young Company celebrating the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth by performing Romeo and Juliet in St Mary’s Church and The Merchant of Venice at The Dream Factory and Propeller’s presentation of Pocket Henry V.

The Warwick Spring will run from 17 until 30 March.
