Former Coronation Street star Wendi Peters will take to The Lowry stage in Salford for the musical romp Salad Days from September 25 to 29.
The TV and West End performer will play two roles, Lady Raeburn and Aunt Prue, in the Regan De Wynter Williams production.
Julian Slade and Dorothy Reynolds’s musical is packed with polite naughtiness and saucy encounters, with an energetic score featuring songs such as "We Said We Wouldn’t Look Back", "Look At Me, I’m Dancing" and "We’re Looking For A Piano".
Written in 1952 as a summer musical for the Bristol Old Vic, Salad Days transferred to the Vaudeville where it ran for 2,283 performances. The phrase was first coined in Shakespeare’s Anthony and Cleopatra, referring to Anthony’s youth; and the show tells the light-hearted tale of recent graduates Timothy and Jane.
There will be a dementia friendly performance on the Wednesday matinée.
