Hello and Goodbye

The Weebles, one of Northern Stage’s Neighbourhood Events, is an audio experience which can be listened to on Littlehaven Beach in South Shields, where the group of statues called Conversation Piece but known locally as The Weebles is sited, or at home until 31 August. All details, including the audio download, are available on the Northern Stage web site.

Another Neighbourhood Event is Chewin’ on a Brick, an audio-tour designed specifically for Stockton High Street. Actor Scott Turnbull tells a series of semi-autobiographical tales about growing up in the town, interspersed with hand-made animations, black comedy and magic realism. All stories can be accessed online but to enjoy the full experience go ‘down town’ and scan the QR codes at each location for exclusive artwork and animations. Ends on 30 June.

On Sunday 4 July, Eliot Smith Dance brings Homecoming, which consists of Messiah (Mark Baldwin), TroY (Eliot Smith), Onward (Jake Vincent) and Bloom (Yamit Salazar), to Gosforth Civic Theatre.

On Friday (7:30) and Saturday (2:30 and 7:30) at Dance City, The Collective, Dance City's MA Advanced Dance Performance ensemble, presents a double bill of a new commission by Alleyne Dance and Neverland by David Lloyd’s Mischief Company.

At The Customs House on Friday (7:30) and Saturday (2:30 and 7:30), regular Customs House performers Steven Hamilton, Dale Jewitt, Simon Stuart, Glen Richard Townsend, Chloe Jane Millar, Jen Stevens, Eleanor Chaganis, Natasha Haws, Bethan Amber, and Beth Clarke present The Magic of Musicals.

Elysium Theatre Company’s stream of Athol Fugard’s Hello and Goodbye is available to watch on the Queen’s Hall (Hexham) web site until Thursday.

From Wednesday to Saturday, Middlesbrough Theatre presents In the Footsteps of Giants by David Tuffnell.
