The world première of the musical version of Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks runs at Newcastle Theatre Royal until Saturday.
The Weebles, one of Northern Stage’s Neighbourhood Events, is an audio experience which can be listened to on Littlehaven Beach in South Shields, where the group of statues called Conversation Piece but known locally as The Weebles is sited, or at home until 31 August. On Saturday and Sunday (11:00 and 2:00), The Customs House presents Peggy Pearpot, a new play for ages 4–7 years by Danielle Slade.
From Wednesday to Saturday (various times), the summer panto Treasure Island at Playhouse Whitley Bay stars Todd Carty (EastEnders, Grange Hill and Dancing on Ice) as Long John Silver.
Middlesbrough Theatre presents two shows this week. On Tuesday (3:00 and 6:00) at Newham Grange Farm, Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf from Folksy Theatre uses puppetry and music to tell how, as Little Red is going to visit Grandma, the three pigs are building their new homes, Goldilocks is having problems with some bears and, to top it all off, the Big Bad Wolf is out on the hunt for his dinner! Can Little Red help her friends and still outsmart the hungry Wolf?
Then on Thursday at 6:30, Immersion Theatre presents Romeo and Juliet in Middlesbrough Town Hall Courtyard.
From Friday until 30 August (once daily, various times) in Hartlepool Borough Hall, AJ Productions presents Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
On Wednesday, Harrogate Theatre presents Immersion Theatre’s production of The Three Musketeers in RHS Harlow Carr (recommended age 8+).
