Fatal Attraction runs at Newcastle Theatre Royal from Tuesday to Saturday.

Tree, a new play by Gary Kitching & Steve Byron, runs at Alphabetti from Tuesday until 12 February.

Tall Stories presents The Smeds and the Smoos, for ages 3+, a tale of star-crossed aliens based on the book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler at The Tyne Theatre and Opera House from Wednesday to Friday (various times).

At Dance City on Saturday at 7:30, the Dora Frankel Ensemble presents Trails, extracts from the trilogy inspired by the work of landscape painter J M W Turner.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast the Musical at Sunderland Empire runs until 19 February.

On Saturday, Ballet Theatre UK presents The Snow Queen at Middlesbrough Theatre.

At Darlington Hippodrome this week, The Russian State Ballet of Siberia presents Snow Maiden on Thursday, Romeo and Juliet (Friday), The Nutcracker (Saturday) and Swan Lake (Sunday).

Round the Horne comes to Harrogate Theatre on Friday.
