Propeller returns to the Theatre Royal, Newcastle, this week with The Comedy of Errors (Tuesday, Friday and Saturday matinée) and A Midsummer Night's Dream (Wednesday, Thursday matinée and evening, and Saturday).

From Tuesday to Thursday Zendeh presents its latest production, Heart, at Northern Stage.

At Live Theatre on Friday and Saturday Live Theatre, nabokov & HighTide Festival Theatre in association with The North Wall present Nick Payne's new play Incognito. There will be further performances from 22 April to 3 May. Then on Saturday and Sunday Queen's Hall Arts presents another in the BITESIZE plays series, Lee Mattinson's Never Forget.

51 Shades of Maggie comes to the Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Vincent Dance Theatre brings Motherland to Dance City on Saturday.

Tonight's the Night comes to Sunderland Empire from Monday to Saturday.

Never Forget is at Arts Centre Washington on Thursday.

And Never Forget is also at Alnwick Playhouse on Tuesday at 1PM. On Wednesday NORTH brings Send More Paper to the theatre on Wednesday.

And Send More Paper is at the Queen's Hall in Hexham on Tuesday.

The John Godber Company presents Teechers at the Phoenix Theatre in Blyth on Wednesday.

At Durham's Gala Theatre this week Northern Ballet presents Three Little Pigs on Wednesday (12:15PM, 2:00PM & 6:30PM) and the Reduced Shakespeare Company The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) on Thursday.

Stuff and Nonsense return to ARC Stockton from Tuesday until Thursday 10 April with The Hare and the Tortoise, for age 3 to 7 (various times: contact box office for details) and on Tuesday for one night only Hannah Nicklin presents her one-woman show A Conversation with My Father.

Common Ground Theatre Ensemble brings its version of A Winter’s Tale to the Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond, on Friday, followed, on Saturday, by Graham Woolnough's Tea with the Old Queen.
