Hairspray continues at Newcastle’s Theatre Royal until Saturday.

Theatre503, Tara Finney Productions and Wales Millennium Centre present Land of Our Fathers at Live Theatre from Wednesday to Saturday.

Saturday is Alphabetti Soup – poetry, music, theatre, comedy and soup – at Alphabetti Theatre.

Thriller Live is at Sunderland Empire from Monday to Saturday.

Frogs and Snails and Teddy Bear Tales, for age 3 – 7, is at the Customs House in South Shields on Saturday at 12pm and 2.30pm.

Ballet Theatre UK presents The Snow Queen at Alnwick Playhouse on Thursday.

On Thursday at 2pm and 7pm Matthew Bellwood and Alison Andrews in association with LittleMighty present (The Story is Not) Set in Stone at ARC Stockton, an intimate performance in which the audience is seated round a large table. A “pay what you decide” event.

The Russian State Ballet of Siberia comes to Darlington Civic this week with The Snow Maiden (Thursday), The Sleeping Beauty (Friday) and Swan Lake (Saturday and Sunday).
