Chicago returns to Newcastle Theatre Royal from Monday until 13 August.

The Comedy Festival continues at South Shields Customs House on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

On Saturday at 1:30 and 3:30, Nonsense Room Productions presents young children’s show Hairy Maclary and Friends at Alnwick Playhouse.

The Wind Road Boys, a new family-friendly show fusing comedy, drama and musical numbers, comes to the Phoenix Theatre in Blyth on Tuesday.

Family musical The Pied Piper runs at the Playhouse Whitley Bay from Thursday to Saturday at 1:30 and 6:30.

The drama/installation 1916: No Turning Back continues at Durham’s Gala Theatre until 28 August (various times throughout the day).

The Wind Road Boys comes to Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre on Thursday.

The Pantaloons present Gulliver's Travels at Harrogate Theatre on Friday while in the Studio on Friday and Saturday Brother Wolf presents A Lesson from Auschwitz, a play based on real events.
