From Wednesday to Saturday Northern Stage premieres Blue Boy, written by local playwright Margaret Wilkinson and produced by New Writing North.

From Friday to Sunday Live Theatre presents I’m Just Saying, six plays written by young teenagers from the West End of Newcastle and performed by professional actors.

Next weekend sees Dance City’s Just Jam International with hip hop performance day Jam and Juice on Saturday and a day-long Bboy Battle on Sunday.

On Wednesday Badapple Theatre Company present Eddie and the Gold Tops at Arts Centre Washington.

Myrtle Theatre Company bring Up Down Boy to the Customs House in South Shields on Tuesday and Wednesday.

NTC (Northumberland Theatre Company) return to their home base, Alnwick Playhouse, with their production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Friday and Saturday.

The Original Theatre Company perform Three Men in a Boat at the Maltings in Berwick on Thursday.

Children’s entertainers The Singing Kettle present Fancy Dress Party at the Queen’s Hall in Hexham on Friday at 5pm.

Amazing Grace comes to the Gala in Durham on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Vagina Monologues is at Billingham Forum on Thursday.

Icarus Theatre Collective bring their production of Romeo and Juliet to the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond from Thursday to Saturday.

In the Harrogate Theatre Studio Nunkie Theatre presents two ghost stories by M R James: A Warning to the Curious on Monday and Count Magnus on Tuesday, while from Thursday to Saturday Little Angel Theatre presents Handa’s Surprise, a 30 minute show for 2- to 5-year-olds.
