The Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize launched last month and is a national playwriting competition run by Liverpool Hope University open to anyone over 18, with a separate category for 21 and under.
There is a cash prize of £10,000 for the winner—the play should have a comic emphasis—and the selected script may be produced at the Royal Court Theatre Liverpool; with two highly commended entries receiving £1,500 each.
Winner of the under 21 category will receive £2,500 and £500 awarded to the two runners-up.
